Jocelyn Rose provides both Counselling and Coaching from her private practice. The two types of work are similar but have some very important differences. Here is an analogy to help explain them:
• Counselling helps you to understand and come to terms with your past. It can also provide you with support to contain and move out of a crisis situation. It teaches you how to release yourself from habitual patterns of existence which are often taught to you by people that did not know or understand your personal style.
• Coaching is about moving you from where you are in your life, to the life you wish to create for yourself, by providing you with tools and support as you take steps to action. It helps you traverse the gap between where you are now and where you want to go. The total focus is on you moving forward, unleashing your individual potential, using practical tools and self knowledge. This is not new age hype. It is simply about identifying the unique taste buds that we all have and then learning how to eat what fulfills you. Jocelyn teaches you individually, in accordance with your passions, yearnings and needs. Jocelyn recognizes the depth and breadth of your own unique style and helps you to claim and initiate the truth of it.
• Divorce Coaching assists you in making a healthy transition. Divorce can be an extremely emotional and volatile undertaking. Even when both partners have come to terms with the knowledge that their relationship is over. There are a myriad of details that must be attended to in order to make this separation one that is amicable to both parties. Assets have to be divided in a fair and equitable way. Children’s needs being met are paramount to a healthy divorce. We do not divorce our children and therefore must learn ongoing communication skills. Whether you like it or not, you will remain in a co-parenting relationship with your former partner for the rest of your lives. Lawyers are expensive and often set up animosity by taking opposing sides in a dispute, which only adds to stress, financial loss and emotional overload. Coaching gives you an ongoing support foundation, an arsenal of tools and in depth, common sense legal awareness of how to traverse this shaky landscape.
Common law Divorce Coaching teaches you your rights under the common law legal acts of Canada. Gay or straight, every Province is regulated by different laws and requirements that you have to meet in order to reach a healthy and fair separation/divorce agreement. Most common law couples do not understand that they have many of the same legal rights as married couples. Canadian common law divorce coaching will assist you in navigating these waters. It will provide emotional support and give you all the necessary tools and skill sets to make your transition a healthier and wiser one.
What you need to know about rates. Every person is different in terms of their needs. Everyone process’s information at different speeds, depending on the emotional depth that they find themselves struggling within. An hour session for one individual may be too much time where as an hour session for another may be too little time.
One on One Counseling / Coaching
A beginning benchmark is usually set at 60 minutes. You and I will quickly learn in a matter of a few sessions whether this is ample time to complete a session or if indeed more or less time is required on an ongoing basis.
To feel financially comfortable with the process and in order to set your own budget and time boundaries I have chosen to give costs based on my rates per 15 minute increments. For a one on one session my fees are $25.00 CDN per 15 minutes. This means a 45-minute session is $75.00 CDN an hour session is $100.00 CDN etc. This gives you the client the ease of understanding rates and allows you to govern your time wisely while in session.
Couple Counseling/Joint sessions
Couple counseling, joint sessions, my fee’s are $30.00 CDN per 15-minute increment. Why does it cost more for a joint session? The reason for this is, it takes a great deal more energy and focus on the part of myself. Two people or more, create a dynamic that requires me to utilize skill sets that expend more personal physical resources. Breaking up quarrels, holding each person accountable, making sure that each is heard and feels supported. The difference between climbing a mountain and walking up a hill in the same time frame, expends different amounts of physical and emotional resources. I have to budget my own mental and emotional stamina wisely, to insure that both of you get your requirements met in session.
All couples must budget for at least a one-hour session though my experience has taught me that 1.5 hours is more in tune with meeting their joint requirements. Especially if they are coming with issues that have been festering for quite some time. Remember that two people need to speak and voice their concerns, be heard and taught new skill sets, depending on that day’s topic, while in session.
A 1 hour session is $120.00 CDN a 1.5 hour session is $150.00 CDN etc.
All first sessions are free. 45 minutes for a one on one and 60 minutes for a joint/couple session. This insures that we can work together ongoing and does not impinge on your finances if you are not comfortable with my working style.
Payments are to be made at the beginning of each scheduled appointment. I do not accept credit cards.
You can make payments to the following:
TD Trust account
Vancity Credit Union account.
We can work out the details of how you wish to proceed with payment once ongoing sessions have begun.
I also offer Telecourses which give you many of the same powerful tools I teach in her private practice, at a much lower rate.
If you want to book an appointment, sign up for a course, speak with Jocelyn or if you have any questions, please contact her. Jocelyn will be happy to help you.
